OUR SERVICES
We are here to help you throughout your application process, from the beginning till the end. You are more than welcome to set up multiple appointments, ask questions, clarify your doubts, or simply meet to share a cup of coffee and get over those anxiety pangs! :)
That being said, our services can be condensed into three broad categories - reviewing and finalizing your resume, structuring and finalizing your essays, and helping you prepare for your interview.
We always begin with first getting to know you as an individual. We like to know what drives you, what motivates you, what is it you are passionate about, what you've accomplished at work - things that make you, you. With this information, we create a small database of "stories" that we believe are essential to describing who you are to someone else.
In our view, the most important stage of the work we do with you is at the first stage itself, where we get to know you. This is when we meet you for the first time, go over your resume and talk to you face to face, to understand who you are, what makes you tick, what excites you, what you have achieved in your lives and how you went about doing it, what are your goals and aspirations for the future and how you intend to go about achieving them. This stage really requires us to get inside the student's head, to understand what are their key characteristics which make them who they are. We also help students clear their doubts and confusions about the admission process, and even about their own aspirations. This important first stage, if done well, makes the subsequent stages more fruitful. Whether it is advice on selection of schools to apply to, what stories to choose for using in essays, or even whether they need to go for a MBA degree at all - everything depends on the good completion of stage one. During this time, we meet the students as often as needed, either face to face or by phone or Skype. We also critique the resume itself, and help to improve it, and also help them select stories from the students past experiences, which highlight their positive qualities.
Armed with this database, we start working with you on your resume and essays, and going forward, with your interview preparation.
Interview preparation
An interview call from your dream school is already cause for celebration! At this point, it is all about showing the school that you are the student they are looking for. Our goal here is to equip you to do that, using the same or additional stories that we finalized earlier. We will help you practice with mock interviews followed by feedback, so you can put your best foot forward on D-Day.
Essay review
For your application, you need to write essays that are not just good stand alone pieces with correct grammar. Rather, they must form a coherent whole with your resume, to bring out your qualities and paint the best picture of you. For this, we help you select events from your life that best describe you and then iterate over what you write to achieve the best final result.
Resume review
Our goal here is to keep your resume as crisp as possible, while giving the reader a clear picture of what you've accomplished so far. We will also help you make sure your resume is well formatted, looks professional, and does justice to you!
